School is out for the summer and I am so excited to only have one semester left until I graduate! These past two weeks were so filled with school, finals and work that I didn't even have time to do laundry or work out. I finally got my life back together though!! And FINALLY went shopping... I was legitimately having withdrawals (who feels me?)
This was also the first weekend I've gotten to come home to my parents and spend time with them... Just in time for Mothers Day and The Kentucky Derby! Even though I didn't get to physically be at Churchill Downs this year, I was there in spirit and attire lol. My niece wanted to go pick sunflowers and me and my sister (her mom and also fellow blogger) thought it would be a perfect blog opportunity. Little did we know that we would have to fight off bees, spiders, cockroaches and ants all for some pictures! I am not kidding all of the above either landed on me, bit me or crawled on me. #YUCK All in all though we got some pretty great photos and survived! Even though our mom was laughing at us the whole time with how prissy we were being... And yes I will admit to it now as I write this from the comfort of my couch which is indoors which is also void of bugs. My summer must haves are exactly that... MUST HAVES! I literally keep picturing the Spongebob episode when he is drying out in Sandy's house and he can't reach the water and he screams "I NEED WATER!!!"... Well I am screaming "I NEED ALL THINGS!!!" (if you haven't seen that episode google the meme and it will make perfect sense).
Things that are majorly in for this summer include: straw bags, the color watermelon and striped cutout dresses. Also, both pairs of wedges pictured are currently in my shopping cart, LOL I have an addiction. The black sunnies are my favorite from Dior at the moment and the round pink ones are only $8.50 from Go Jane! Crazy deal! SHOP THE LOOK polyvore I am taking full advantage of any free time I have and using it to soak up some sun!
I have been so swamped (I know I complain about it a lot LOL) but this past weekend I took the time to do nothing. Sometimes it is so nice just to do nothing. I got to lay out by my pool in this new swim suit top (the bottoms I've had for a while) and read some of my new books which I highly recommend... The Screwtape Letters by CS Lewis and Wild at Heart by John Eldredge. SHOP THE LOOK top: OLD NAVY | bottoms: cuter bottoms HERE | sunnies: Forever 21 | sandals: Nordstrom These past few weeks have been crazy with school and work! I'm sure that my fellow college student followers completely feel my pain. I have tried to keep up with posting on Instagram but I wanted to catch you all up with a few outfits and their links!
I am excited to spend the weekend working on new and exciting things for you guys! I will have a few announcements so make sure to keep a look out for it on Instagram! @anerdinpearls The poncho in the bottom left is a long time favorite of mine but is from seasons ago. I have linked a similar poncho that I think you all will love! YAY for summer and YAY for sun! I am ultimately a much happier person when it's a gorgeous and sunny day that I get to spend outside.
It was my first beach day of the year and even though I was pasty as heck I had to wear this white bathing suit because I was dying to break the tags off of it! Also, this off-the-shoulder dress was the perfect coverup and looks great with a fresh tan... or in my case a fresh burn lol (I'm peeling so bad rn). I show two different pairs of gladiators here, a knee high pair and an ankle wrap pair. Both looked great with the dress! And as the summer progresses be on the look out for more gladiator sandals and bathing suits from me! SHOP THE LOOK bathing suit: Forever 21 sold out, find similar at TRIANGL | dress: Forever 21 | black wrap sandals: Charlotte Russe | knee high gladiators: Target I always felt too short to wear the wide leg culottes that are ever so popular these days but finding one that is more of a capri/cigarette pant length was the right choice for me!
Rompers/Jumpsuits are literally my favorite thing to wear (other than sweatpants and a giant tshirt) because they are so easy and you always look put together when you wear them. It's such an effortless chic and who doesn't love that?! I have linked several options below for black jumpsuits that are all under $75, that way you can choose the perfect one for your body type! SHOP THE LOOK jumpsuit: HERE, HERE, HERE and HERE | heels: Charlotte Russe It was my Grandpa's 81st birthday on Saturday so the whole family got together to eat and drink and celebrate! It's always a good time!! My grandmother is the person that got me hooked on fashion so of course every time I go over there I have to look my best.
I was trying to find a good opportunity to wear this turtleneck and since it was a cloudy, rainy and windy day I figured "why not?" The arm holes of the top are cutout large enough to show off a cute bralette. I love getting the comment (from my parents, grandparents and anyone over the age of 40) that I should buy new jeans because the ones I am wearing have holes in them... My response is always "you actually pay more for the ones with the holes in them" LOL. Who doesn't love witty banter with family?? SHOP THE LOOK top: similar HERE | jeans: AE | shoes: Charlotte Russe | bralette: H&M In honor of Engineer Week I wanted to let my inner geek flag fly... LOL that just sounds geeky. Tech accessories are a part of our every day lives as I'm sure every one of you owns a smart phone (even my mom has an iPhone and that was a miracle). I like to do accessories the Nerd in Pearls way, very bold and blingy. I just bought my Apple Watch (click picture) and am obsessed with it! Of course I got it in rose gold and bought the rose gold band to match. While I was at Best Buy I also found this gorgeous iPad case by Christian Siriano (click picture... doesn't it look like an adorable clutch!?!?!?!) I know Rebecca Minkoff and other notorious designers like Tory Burch love the #techcessories. I've linked some of my favorites below❤️ *click on picture*
Off the shoulder stripes, boyfriend jeans and killer boots... What more does an outfit need?
I wear these jeans way too often but they are soooo versatile that I can't help myself! And when your man comments that he wants a pair just like them... Then you know they are the perfect boyfriend Jean (true life story) SHOP THE LOOK top: Forever 21 (another off the should top I love HERE) | jeans: American Eagle | boots: similar HERE In my opinion Valentines Day is completely overrated.
I wish younger girls and even women my age knew this. It is absolutely okay to be single on Valentines Day. It actually turns out better for you... you save money and you can eat all of the chocolate you want. Who in their right mind doesn't want that? LOL. BUT for those who are doing something special whether it be with a significant other or a big group of single girlfriends (which I highly suggest doing!) I have gathered my top picks for the perfect Valentines Day outfit. |
I am a college student in engineering and I love it, but my real passion is fashion. I am obsessed with all things neutral, all black clothing, expensive hand bags, and shoes with red bottoms.
