I'm dreaming of the weekend as I sit in class and it's so close I can almost taste it! This past weekend was such a fun one as I got to take a trip to Disney and also celebrated my dad's birthday. It was such a hot day outside during my Disney excursion that I wanted to wear something light and loose. This navy midi dress and grey cardigan mixture was exactly that, light and loose. Both are cotton material so they breath easily and they are stylish.

I bought this whole outfit at cotton on and originally had it paired with a cute pair of short booties but it was too hot out for that! High heeled short booties could easily dress up this outfit and be great for a date night or a cute outfit for a lunch with the girls.

There is this incredible place to eat and have drinks in Winter Park and we got a visit from a good friend so needless to say it was time for a Girls night out! Three girls, dressed to kill, how much trouble could we really get into? Two bottles of wine and a meal that was fit for a king later we had one heck of a girls night. 

I had recently purchased a white blazer from H&M and it was an exciting buy for me because any white blazer I had previously tried to buy looked like a doctors white coat on me. This blazer was different, with its black piping and cinched waist, it was form fitting and the perfect statement piece to my evening look. 

The American Apparel body suit that I wore underneath the blazer was indeed low cut but added the right amount of sexy for a Friday night on the town.

I have had this one specific romper for probably 4 years and it still looks as good as if I had bought it yesterday. I love it for days after hitting the pool or the beach because it is light and airy and so comfortable!

There are items in my closet that I've worn many times and there are items I will probably only wear once or twice... But i feel as if that is the norm because to keep up with the ever changing pace of fashion you have to be able to buy pieces of clothing without getting too attached to them. Classic pieces, like your favorite black blazer or that pair of jeans that hug every curve in just the right way, are pieces that you DO NOT get rid of! I'm sure rompers will go out of style again (I hope that never happens) but this teal one will have gotten it's wear in.

Being a college student can lead to questionable fashion choices but over the years I have learned that the classier you dress the more respect you will get. Dressing classy doesn't have to mean dressing boring or wearing a button up sweater with pearls every day. There are several ways to be presentable and still have a little bit of sass.

One of my favorite famous people to take fashion advice from is Carrie Underwood and although she isn't known for being a fashion guru she is known for always looking flawless while keeping it classy. She made a statement a few years ago after an awards show performance that has been stuck in my head ever since... "If I am going to wear a dress that shows a lot of leg I will cover my upper body and bust, if I am going to show my upper body then I will wear something that covers my legs." I think her ideology is amazing because what man wants a woman who puts it all out there for the world to see at once?

The dress I wore in this look is a midi (meaning it goes to the tops of my calves). That makes up for the deep V neckline and I paired it with a tan trench coat because I wanted the red to really stand out.

This really was a simple outfit, but sometimes simple is the sexiest.

Saturday night we all had to turn our clocks forward and lost an hour of sleep. That is the only negative of Spring! The positives include maxi dresses, bright colors, longer days and better weather. This lavender top was an amazing find from H&M and can be styled for many occasions. I loved pairing it with my white skinnies for a lunch with the family and will most likely pair it with my white wide leg dress pants for a work outfit. The cut is extremely flattering and perfect for all body types.

I have been MIA this past week but I am back and as fashionable as ever! I will be out of commission for school and work this week due to having my wisdom teeth removed so I have been stock piling my outfits. What better to do than online shop and blog while laid up in bed? I can’t think of a better combination!

I was doing laundry last week and realized that my darks pile is sufficiently larger than my whites or mediums, and I’m the type of person that waits to do laundry until they run out of clean and cute underwear, so I have a good basis to go off of when I tell you that my wardrobe is mostly black or dark colors. After doing laundry, the next day I proceeded to wear a black on black outfit (pictured below) and I felt fierce. 

Well-made black clothing is timeless and effortless. Every girl should have in their closets the at least one of LBD (little black dress) and in my case it just so happens that I have four or five of those little black dresses. For office attire it is always good to have a black structured blazer and black fitted dress pants. They go with anything and I guess I come by it honestly since my mothers favorite wardrobe colors are black and navy. 

Last weekend I went to H&M to buy a pair of joggers for my boyfriend and ended up leaving with two new tops, a white blazer and a trench coat... oops! The black top shown in this look was one that I bought from H&M that day and it is the perfect pair with my skinny dress pants.
