DAY 1: DAY 2: DAY 3: Talk about the trip of a lifetime! I could not have had a better first time in New York City. This post has taken me a long time to write because I wanted it to really express how much I fell in love with the City that never sleeps.
DAY 1: Our trip started out at 3:45 AM to catch our 6 AM flight... We were in New York by 8:30 and as soon as we dropped our bags off at the hotel and put on our jackets (because it was freezing) we were off sight seeing. Trying to navigate the subway and how to use a metro card was interesting but thankfully it only took all four of us to figure it out LOL... We saw the Brooklyn Bridge, Wall Street, the New York Stock Exchage, the Statue of liberty, 9/11 memorial (talk about breathtaking) and the Freedom tower. Even though I had blisters under every single toe and my heels were bruised from the amount of walking we did it was totally worth it to have visited all of the major location and landmarks. We had to go out since it was our first night in NY and little did we know that the bars didn't close until 4 in the morning!! We were up for more than 24 hours straight (HOLY WOW). DAY 2: It started early with breakfast at The Empire State Building and the mimosas were so good they were almost worth the 12$ we spent on them... When in Rome they say. The sights from the 86th floor were INCREDIBLE! Now getting to the 86th floor... not so much. It was like waiting in line for an amusement ride and then it only takes you to the 80th floor and because we thought we were young resilient females we thought walking the next 6 floors would be a piece of cake and would be way faster than the long line for the elevator. Boy were we wrong... having walked so much the day prior we were all gasping for air and laughing so hard we were almost in tears because if we weren't laughing we for sure would have been crying. Shopping was next on the agenda and I made sure to have on my cutest outfit... even though I was probably going to catch pneumonia. And as some would like to call it, splurged... as my mother would like to call it, I emptied the bank account (she just doesn't understand how precious Louboutins are). They were my first pair and at Saks on Fifth Ave it was a necessary purchase. The Yankees were playing the Rangers and we had to take in at least one game while we were there... all four of us wearing the exact same blue Yankees hat (talk about being tourists haha) It was such a fun atmosphere though, I mean who doesn't love a beer and a hot dog while watching good looking men in baseball pants?? I DO. DAY 3: A lot of exploring and china town shopping happened on Day 3. Mid town as the locals like to call it (Times Square for us newbies) was packed with people and as soon as we got off the subway it was as if we stepped into a movie. It was the epitome of New York. It was my birthday weekend so we decided to go to get a little wild and go to a drag show called Lips NYC. That was the funniest show I have ever seen! The food was amazing and we didn't stop laughing (or blushing). It was sad to leave but we were all filled with stories and storage filled phones. The ladies that went with me on this unforgettable trip made it all the more special and I can speak for them when I say we will definitely take another trip together and will definitely be back to NEW YORK!
